Privacy policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
Packmule keeps only what it needs to send your files and stop misuse. We don’t sell your information, show ads or use advertising trackers.
What we collect
| From | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| People who send | Email address, when you signed up and last signed in | To sign you in and contact you about your account |
| People who send | Your files, their names and sizes, each send’s title, note and password (stored scrambled, never readable) | To deliver the send |
| People who send | Whether you asked for occasional email about Instride tools, and when | So we email you only if you said yes |
| People who download | When each file was downloaded, and how many times | To show the sender their download counts and spot misuse |
| Everyone | Internet address (IP) and browser type | To limit sign-ins, password guesses and reports, and to spot misuse |
| People who report | The reason, any details, and your email if you give it | To review the report and reply |
Who handles it for us
We use these companies to run Packmule, and they handle your information only to provide their service: Vercel (hosting the site), Cloudflare (storing files), Neon (our database) and Resend (sending email). All store data in the United States.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in, for up to 30 days. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. Links to other Instride tools carry a tag saying they came from Packmule; the tag holds nothing about you.
How long we keep it
- Files: deleted 5 days after the send is created, or when you delete them.
- The record of an expired or deleted send (title, sender, dates, download counts): kept 90 days, then deleted.
- Your account: kept until you ask us to delete it.
- Reports: kept as long as needed to handle them and to prevent repeat misuse.
Your choices
You can delete any send at any time from Your sends. You can stop Instride emails with the unsubscribe link in any of them. To see the information we hold about you, correct it or delete your account, write to support@packmule.net.
Security
Files travel and are stored encrypted. Sign-in links and passwords are stored scrambled. No system is perfectly secure, so don’t send anything through Packmule you couldn’t afford to have exposed.
Age
Packmule is not for anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we delete it.
Changes and contact
We change the date at the top when this policy changes, and tell signed-in users about significant changes. Questions: support@packmule.net.
